Gilston: Police issue urgent ‘stay indoors’ warning after home invasion robbery on Gold Coast

An urgent warning to local communities has been issued by Queensland police as they hunt for two armed men after a robbery.

The Gold Coast Bulletin is reporting that residents have been told to “stay indoors” as three men, allegedly with a gun and a machete, remain on the loose.

Queensland Police and Polair are circling the Gilston area after an alleged robbery in Arundel at around 5am on Tuesday.

Officers were reportedly called to a residence in Arundel after three men allegedly robbed a home with a gun and a machete.

Police found a vehicle involved in the incident at Gilston and have begun searching nearby bushland.

Locals told the Courier Mail they had been told to to “stay indoors” and “to ring triple-0 and report any fresh sightings”.

Another local said they were inside the police exclusion zone with one police van parked outside their home.

“Choppers flying overhead, my street is blocked off and nobody is allowed in or out.”
