Laidley: Police investigating after 12-year-old girl killed in fall from e-scooter into oncoming car

Tragedy has struck as a 12-year-old girl fell off the e-scooter she was riding into the path of a car and was killed.

The Queensland Forensic Crash Unit are investigating after the youngster died following the collision in Laidley on Saturday afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate that both vehicles were travelling south on Vaux Street and at around 3pm the rider of the scooter fell into the path of a grey Holden Barina.

The young girl was treated by emergency services but was sadly declared deceased at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not physically injured.

Police are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward or to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000..
