Logan, Queensland: Man charged after two injured in violent Haig Street incident

A man has been charged after allegedly threatening two people with a weapon during a violent disturbance in Loganlea, leaving both victims injured and in hospital.
Police were called to Haig Street about 7.30pm on Thursday following reports of a serious disturbance.
Investigators allege the 57-year-old Loganlea man confronted a 40-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman before threatening them with a weapon.

Emergency services treated the pair at the scene before transporting them to the hospital the man to Princess Alexandra Hospital and the woman to Logan Hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
Detectives arrested the 57-year-old at the scene and charged him with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
He has been refused police bail and is expected to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday.
Police investigations into the circumstances of the incident are continuing.
