A Logan father is fighting for his life with critical head injuries as police investigate what appears to be a serious assault.

The 52-year-old man turned up at Logan Hospital with significant head injuries about 12.30am on Monday.

Queensland Police say initial investigations indicate the man was assaulted near Rudyard Street, Inala, several hours prior.

It’s understood his friends found him five hours later and took him to hospital.

He has since been taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a critical condition and is receiving specialist care for life-threatening injuries.

Police investigating how the man came to be injured have identified two potential crime scenes in Hillcrest and Inala.

Forensics were seen on Tuesday, photographing and bagging items like a garden stake and empty beer bottles.

The man’s grey Toyota Rav4 with Queensland registration 979 LP2, remains outstanding and was last sighted at a fast-food restaurant on Government Road, Richlands, between 6pm and 6:30pm on Sunday evening.

Anyone with information or footage taken in the vicinity of Government Road, between Archerfield Road and Forest Lake Boulevard,is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
