A man is in critical condition after the motorbike he was riding slammed into a ute in Queensland.

Police are appealing for public assistance following the serious traffic crash in Acacia Ridge on Wednesday.

Initial information indicates shortly before 8am, a white Toyota utility and a blue Yamaha motorbike collided at the intersection of Mortimer Road near Gregory Street.

The motorbike rider, a 39-year-old Stockleigh man, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The driver of the utility, a 46-year-old Mansfield man, was not physically injured and is assisting police with inquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
