Toowoomba police shooting: Man in critical condition after being shot by police officers
A wanted man is fighting for life after police were “left with no other option” but to shoot him, when he allegedly threatened officers in Toowoomba, Queensland.
A number of QLD Police units were sent to a home on Ruthven Street, North Toowoomba, about 5pm Monday, to track down a person “known to police” when the incident took place.
Acting Superintendent Scott Stahlut said when officers arrived at the address, a disturbance occurred.

“As a result, police were left with no other option but to discharge their firearms.”
Stahlut said two shots were fired. He said two officers also received minor injuries and were receiving treatment.
The man reportedly pulled a knife on officers and was then shot in the chest, according to 7NEWS.
He was taken to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.
Police have set up a crime scene and investigations are ongoing.
The QPS Ethical Standards Command will investigate.
