Two people have been killed and another is in critical condition after a horrific two-car crash just outside of Brisbane.

Two station wagons were travelling on the D’Aguilar Hwy at Wamuran, northwest of Moreton Bay when they crashed head-on just before 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old male driver of a Mitsubishi Pajero station wagon, which had been travelling west on the highway, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.

He is assisting police with their enquiries.
