Facebook Marketplace BMW sale goes hideously wrong for Adelaide father Sayed Rafi Haidari
A man’s attempt to sell his BMW on Facebook Marketplace went wrong in terrifying fashion, leaving the Adelaide father-of-two shaken.

A South Australian man’s attempt to sell his second-hand BMW on Facebook Marketplace went hideously wrong when he ended up allegedly robbed at knifepoint.
Sayed Rafi Haidari, who lives in Burton, north of Adelaide, advertised his 2008 silver sedan through the social media channel.
But he was left shaken and carless when his would be buyer showed up asking for a test drive – then allegedly produced a knife and drove off.

Mr Haidari told 7NEWS that a potential buyer contacted him shortly before 11pm on Wednesday demanding to see the car immediately.
Despite requesting the buyer come the following day, Mr Haidari reluctantly agreed to let him take a short test drive, after which the situation took a terrifying turn.
“He told me: ‘Please help me, I need a car for work tomorrow,” he said.

“I said maybe come tomorrow at 6pm, but he was already on his way.”
Mr Haidari then alleged the man returned from his test drive and pulled out a knife.
“He showed me the knife. I told him: ‘okay brother, you can go,” the father-of-two added.
Mr Haidari, who moved to Australia from Afghanistan two years ago, told 7NEWS the ordeal had left his family shaken and disillusioned.
Following the incident, police in South Australia have appealed for support in tracing the stolen vehicle.
“The victim had listed his silver 2008 BMW sedan for sale online and man attended his Burton address just before midnight on Thursday, June 25 to inspect the car,” a SA Police spokesman said in a statement.
“The buyer took the BMW for a short test drive in the street and returned to the house.
“When the victim asked him to show his licence and identification, the man produced a knife and drove off in the BMW.”
The suspect is described as being aged in his early 20s, about 178cm tall with dark hair. He was wearing red and white shoes.
Police have appealed for anybody who may have seen the vehicle, registration S786 DFS, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
