Gang of youths arrested and charged after mugging and carjacking at Adelaide fast food restaurant

A gang of youth offenders, including a 12-year-old boy, have been arrested and charged after a violent attack on a man in a fast food restaurant carpark.

Just before midnight on Monday, patrols were called to Curtis Road after a man was allegedly threatened and assaulted by a group of youths as he was leaving the fast-food restaurant.

One of the youths threatened the man with a box cutter and stole his phone and car keys.

The group then got into the victim’s car, a dark blue Toyota Corolla Sedan, and were last seen driving east on Curtis Road in Adelaide.

The victim, a 27-year-old man from Marion, was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The stolen car was recovered on Hogarth Road at Eizabeth South just before 5pm.

As a result of investigations, Northern District police arrested five youths over the incident.

The arrested youths are:

  • A 12-year-old boy from Elizabeth south
  • A 13-year-old boy from Elizabeth South
  • A 14-year-old boy from Blakeview
  • A 15-year-old boy from Blakevew
  • A 14-year-old boy from Mawson Lakes
  • A 14-year-old boy from Athol Park
  • A 13-year-old boy from Ottoway

They were all charged with aggravated robbery and refused police bail. They will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Tuesday.
