A 43-year-old woman riding an electric scooter was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Adelaide’s northwest on Sunday afternoon.

The scooter and car collided at a roundabout at the intersection of Dale St and Church St in Port Adelaide at 4.30pm.

The 43-year-old was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 67-year-old Rosewater woman, and her passenger were not injured.

They told 7NEWS they did not see the 43-year-old woman enter the roundabout.

Police have towed both vehicles for examination as they continue to investigate.
