The multinational sandwich franchise, which has 147 stores in WA, informed Australian and Kiwi customers of the change in an email on Wednesday morning.
“We’re reaching out to inform you the Subcard Loyalty and Gift program will be closing from 31 August 2026,” they wrote in an email seen by PerthNow.

“Any Rewards Dollars remaining in your account after then will expire and be unable to be redeemed.”
The Subcard loyalty scheme was first introduced to the franchise in 2010, with Australian customers finally able to sign up for the reward program in 2019.
This news comes as a blow to customers amid the cost-of-living crisis, who have become more reliant on loyalty programs for non-essential purchases.
Disgruntled customers have been quick to express their upset at the decision, posting across the franchise’s Australian social media pages.
“Why would you get rid of the rewards program?!” one Aussie questioned.
“Not going since you ended the rewards, goodbye Subway . . .” another said.
The franchise has stated they will be releasing more information about the Subcard closure and expired points to loyalty members in coming months.
