Extreme conditions are still expected with wind and rain set to lash Queensland and New South Wales.

Latest Cyclone Alfred update from Bureau of Meteorology
Tropical Cyclone Alfred is crossing Moreton Bay and is expected to make landfall over the mainland coast early morning, before easing quickly below tropical cyclone strength.
Rainfall, wind and ocean impacts are likely to continue for southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales over the weekend.
- Tropical Cyclone advice and forecast track maps are being issued for Tropical Cyclone Alfred. These should be referred to for more detailed information.
- Alfred, category 1, is crossing Moreton Bay, and is expected to cross the mainland coast near Bribie Island early this morning.
- Alfred is expected to weaken below tropical cyclone intensity as it moves over mainland coast this morning.
- Although Alfred will move over the mainland coast and weaken during the morning, wind, rain, and ocean impacts are expected to continue over southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales over the weekend.
