Man arrested following siege at home in Seddon, Melbourne
A man allegedly armed with a crossbow, taser and knife has been arrested by Victoria Police after an hours-long siege at an inner-city Melbourne address.
Victoria St in Seddon was closed about 2pm on Friday as heavily armed officers surrounded a home on the street.
“Never seen anything like it. Police everywhere, half of Victoria St is taped off,” one person wrote on X.

A pharmacist told 7NEWS he used an umbrella to defend himself after he was shot by the crossbow, suffering a graze on his arm.
The man then allegedly fled to the home, triggering the standoff.
Officers negotiated with the man for several hours, finally luring him out with the offer of a lighter for his cigarette.
He was taken into custody about 4pm.
Police had earlier warned people to stay away from the area, although there was no perceived threat to the public.
The investigation continues.
