Two 17-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl were on inflatable paddleboards and were blown offshore.

Other members of the group attempted to rescue the girls but were unsuccessful and a number of calls to Triple Zero (000) were made.

Police were quickly on scene, the rescue coordination centre was notified and the police air wing were deployed.

The 17-year-olds managed to make their way back to shore but the chopper was used to retrieve the 16-year-old.

She was successfully winched onboard and returned to shore and no one was injured.
