A manhunt is underway after a woman was slashed during a violent carjacking in Geelong.

It is understood two men and a woman approached a car on Woods Rd in St Albans Park about 4.30pm on Monday, threatening a man with a knife.

They then moved onto a white Suzuki Vitara wagon shortly after, assaulting the 18-year-old female driver before fleeing the scene in her car.

The woman sustained slash wounds during the incident and was taken to hospital but her injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

The male victim was not physically injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
