Boy, 3, dies after falling out of car in Perth suburb of Dayton
A toddler has died after falling out of his family’s car in Perth’s northeastern suburbs.
Police say a white Kia Carnival station wagon was driving north on Arthur St, Dayton about 3.50pm on Wednesday when a three-year-old boy, who was sitting in the back seat, fell out.

The boy was raced in the same car to his grandmother’s house and was held by his mother as triple-0 was called.
“He sadly died at the scene,” WA Police said.
Neighbour Sinikiwe Dumba said she heard “lots of sirens” as emergency services flooded the scene.
“I assumed it was just the normal odd ambulance or police car going by but there was more than one and they sounded quite near,” she said.
She said the sirens stopped about 10 minutes later and it was not until she finished her work that she went outside.
“I just heard a woman scream out in agony and I knew something was wrong,” she said.
Dumba said Dayton was home to a number of young families.
“It’s sad to hear such a horrific accident has happened in the neighbourhood and with such a young child,” Dumba said.
“It’s sad that such a young child could be involved in such a horrific accident.
“I feel sorry for the parents. I can only imagine what they’re going through.”
WA Premier Roger Cook also commented on the tragedy, saying: “Life can be so fleeting. It can be taken away from us in just a matter of moments. None of us can really understand what that family is going through today, it must be harrowing and desperately sad.”
Major Crash investigators spent hours piecing together how the incident unfolded and the Kia was towed away.
Officers returned to the scene on Thursday searching for clues to determine if the little boy was properly restrained in the car.
Family members are travelling from across the state and country to be with the grieving parents.
Police have appealed for CCTV and dashcam footage and anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
