Bullsbrook: Bushfire warning downgraded to watch and act, ‘no threat to lives and homes’

A bushfire warning in Perth’s north has been downgraded to a watch and act level, with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services confirming there is now “no threat to lives and homes”.

DFES downgraded its warning for residents bound by Warbrook Road, Railway Parade and Maralla Road including Halden Road and Sawpit Road, in Bullsbrook, about 4.15pm on Friday.

The blaze — which started about 1pm — contained and controlled.

“The alert level for this fire has been downgraded as the fire is contained and controlled,” a DFES spokesperson said.

“There is no threat to lives or homes.

“The threat of the fire has reduced however you should take care in the area.

“Stay alert for potential dangers such as smoke and fallen trees and power poles.”

Firefighters are patrolling the area and mopping up.

Some local roads, including Tonkin Highway between The Promenade and Stock West Road in both directions, have been closed.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully.
