Off-duty WA Police officer dies at Trigg Beach
An off-duty officer has died at a popular beach in Perth’s northern suburbs, WA Police have confirmed.
The alarm was raised about a “diver in distress” at Trigg Beach about 10.30am on Tuesday.

The diver, a woman in her 40s, was pulled from the water but could not be revived. She was declared dead at the scene.
‘Heavy heart’
“It is with a heavy heart we confirm the diver is a sworn member (First Class Constable) of the WA Police Force who was off duty at the time,” WA Police said.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are extended to her family and colleagues.
“Attending to life and death situations is a daily reality for first responders but incidents involving one of our own are especially difficult for our officers.”
The force’s health, welfare and safety division will provide support to staff who need it.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
