Anthony Albanese stars in Swag On The Beat comedy sketch as protective father: ‘If you break her heart’
The Prime Minister has made an unexpected appearance alongside two of Australia’s biggest and funniest social media stars, but not everyone is impressed.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has made an unexpected appearance in a comedy sketch with Australian social media sensations Swag On The Beat, jokingly threatening to reinstate a young man’s HECS debt if he breaks his daughter’s heart.
The Melbourne-based comedy duo, made up of Jack Say and Isaac Gibbons, have amassed a huge online following thanks to their hilarious and often absurd sketches about everyday Australian life.
The pair boast 1.3 million followers on Instagram and 1.6 million on TikTok, and have expanded their comedy empire into live shows and a popular podcast.

Mr Albanese showed off his comedic side in the video, playing an overprotective father meeting his daughter’s boyfriend for the first time.
The sketch opens with the nervous boyfriend preparing to meet his partner’s dad, seemingly unaware of just how powerful her father is.
“Are you nervous?” his girlfriend asks.
“What did you say he does again?” the boyfriend replies.
“Ah, he’s his own boss.”
“Right, like what I’m going to be with my crypto course.”
But the boyfriend is in for a surprise when the Australian Prime Minister opens the front door to a home.
“Hello darling,” Mr Albanese says, embracing his fictional daughter before turning his attention to her new boyfriend.
“And who’s this?”
“Dad, this is my boyfriend James.”
“Well, nice to meet you mate,” Mr Albanese responds.
The Prime Minister then delivers the punchline by whispering in the boyfriend’s ear.
“Bear in mind I’m very protective of my daughter and if you break her heart I can reinstate your HECS debt,” he jokes.
The post recieved hundreds of comments and thousands of likes within minutes.
“Best crossover episode ever,” Osher Günsberg wrote.
“Like him or not this is a crazy collab,” another commented.
“No way you got the Prime Minister to be in a sketch,” a third said.
“The Prime Minister being in your video was not on my bingo card,” another joked.
However, not everyone was impressed, with some followers quick to criticise the comedy duo for teaming up with the Prime Minister.
“Damn I used to like you guys,” one disappointed follower wrote.
“Are you trying to lose followers fellas?? Man this could backfire big time!” another warned.
Swag On The Beat also hosts a podcast, although there is no indication Mr Albanese has made an appearance on the show.
