Coldplay kiss-cam scandal: Source makes bombshell claim that Andy Byron, Kristin Cabot weren’t having ‘affair’

Two months after HR executive Kristin Cabot was thrust into the spotlight over a kiss-cam moment with her boss, former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, a bombshell twist has emerged.
The unbelievable revelation comes only weeks after Ms Cabot’s former husband Andrew broke his silence, revealing they had “privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert”.
A source close to Ms Cabot has now come forward, insisting that the HR boss and Mr Byron are just friends and the scandalous jumbotron moment was misinterpreted.

“It is important to note how inappropriately mislabelled Kristin has been — as a homewrecker,” the source added, who noted the pair attended the concert with a group of friends.
The sizzling romance between Ms Cabot and Mr Byron went viral in July after a clip surfaced online of the couple being catapulted onto the big screen canoodling in front of 65,000 person crowd.
After the initial shock of seeing themselves on screen, Mr Byron dashed out of the camera’s view, while Ms Cabot turned away and shielded her face.
At the time, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin joked on-stage that they were having an affair.
“Oh, look at these two. Come on, you’re okay. Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” Martin commented as the crowd roared with laughter.
While the source admitted Ms Cabot shouldn’t have embraced her boss at the concert, she believes the public upheaval spiralled out of control.
“It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it,” the source says.
“But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job — all of that is unfair.”
A week after the scandal made global headlines, Ms Cabot stepped down from her role as the head of HR at Astronomer, and Mr Byron resigned as CEO.
Mr Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, who has since removed his last name from her social media profiles.
“It’s unfathomable to witness what has happened, and how devastating it can be, for not just individuals, but entire families,” the source said.
“All I can think of is that this could happen to any of us at any time. I think all of the misinformation has been the most mind-blowing to witness.”
“These are real people and real families,” they say. “The way people have taken a lot of enjoyment at their expense, it’s hard to see.”
According to Mr Cabot, who is the CEO of Privateer Rum, and has two children from a previous marriage, the decision to divorce Ms Cabot was already underway prior to that controversial evening.

“Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.
