Pamela Anderson joins Liam Neeson in Naked Gun remake
Pamela Anderson will need to brush up on her comedy chops after signing on to the Naked Gun remake.
Anderson will join Liam Neeson in the reboot of the 1980s and 1990s spoof detective movies which were headlined by Leslie Nielsen. By the by, Liam Neeson, Leslie Nielsen. Name two high-profile actors with more similar sounding names.
The former Baywatch star and cultural icon will play a love interest role similar to the character Priscilla Presley played in the original trilogy. As far as the plot goes, that’s as far as anyone is willing to reveal, that and the fact Neeson will portray Frank Debrin, the role Nielsen played.

Schaffer, whose directing credits also include Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and Hot Rod, co-wrote the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. The three also made the 2022 movie Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.
The Naked Gun remake is expected to be in cinemas in mid-2025. Seth MacFarlane is one of the producers.
The original Naked Gun franchise started as a TV series called Police Squad! in 1982, featuring Leslie as a dumb detective who lucked his way out of strife and into solutions. The series was cancelled after six episodes but was reborn as a movie trilogy from 1988.
The first film followed Debrin as he tried to foil an assassination plot against Queen Elizabeth II, and introduced Presley as love interest Jane. It was a box office hit ($US152 million) and two more films followed in 1991 and 1994. O.J. Simpson had a supporting role in all three films.
The original films were made by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker. The filmmakers were also responsible for a series of other beloved slapstick-heavy spoof films including Airplane! and Top Secret! while Abrahams also wrote Hot Shots! and Hot Shots! Part Deux.
Anderson is best known for her role in Baywatch, which propelled her to international stardom. More recently, she released a Netflix documentary called Pamela, a Love Story which took viewers into her world as she recounted key moments in her life including the infamous sex tape debacle with ex-husband Tommy Lee.
