The Gold Logie award will be announced at the end of the ceremony, with Ally Langdon, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Poh Ling Yeow, Robert Irwin, Sam Pang and Todd Woodbridge set to battle it out for the top gong.

Follow as we bring you live updates and all the winners as they are announced.

Australian Story wins Best Current Affairs Program

This is the eighth Logie win for Australian Story, which celebrated its 30th anniversy at the Opera House yesterday.

Greg Hassell, the show’s EP, is up to accept the award.

He’s kept it short and sweet - onya, Greg!

Leigh Sales is thanking the Australian public for their support over 30 years, “we so appreciate it.”

Emily Symons and Kyle Shilling present Best Current Affairs Program

And the nominees are:

  • 60 Minutes, 9Network
  • 7.30, ABC
  • A Current Affair, 9Network
  • Australian Story, ABC
  • Four Corners, ABC
  • Today, 9Network

Well, that’s slightly awkward

As predicted by Shane Jacobson earlier in the evening, the inaugural Bruce McAvaney Award for Most Popular Sports Presenter for which Bruce McAvaney was one of the nominees went to ... not Bruce McAvaney.

Jelena Dokic is the winner, and neither she nor McAvaney were present in the room, which at least meant they didn’t have to oddly lock eyes across the room.

There’s always next year!

Also nominated: Danika Mason, Eddie McGuire, James Bracey and Ricky Ponting.

Hall of Fame: Deborah Mailman Inducted

Rob Collins is up to welcome Deborah Mailman into The Logies Hall of Fame.

“She broke the glass ceiling and created space for others to follow...she has taken Indigenous stories to the world,” he said.

Deborah is crying - and so are we!

Cate Blanchett and Rachel Griffiths are paying tribute, as are a heap of other fabulous actors and creators.

“She is a queen,” says Claudia Karvan.

And we agree - she has won more Best Actress awards than any other Australian actor.

“We are part of 65,000 years of storytelling, and its everything for me to be a part of that,” Deb says.

This is SO deserved.

Among those who paid tribute to Mailman’s talent and humanity in a package were Cate Blanchett, Stephen Curry, Wayne Blair, Madeleine Madden, Miranda Tapsell and her old high school drama teacher from Queensland.

“There is just this freedom, whether she’s ranting, whether she’s holding, whether she’s sobbing, there’s no door on her heart that’s stopping the stuff from coming out. People deeply appreciate actors that makes them feel something,” Rachel Griffiths said of her Total Control co-star.

“No matter what your colour, no matter what your gender, no matter what your class. And when Deb is occupying (a character), that makes them feel something.

Blanchett added, “She has such an incredible facility, and moves through these things with just effortless grace.”

Play School wins its second Logie

It was also inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame 20 years ago.

Some of the show’s presenters are up to accept the award - and they’ve brought Humpty along!

“For 60 years Play School has kept one simple promise - to reflect the lives of Australian children back to them,” says the show’s producer.

A deserved win.

Agro’s Cartoon Connection hosts are up!

Ranger Stacey and Anne-Marie are up presenting an award.

They both look sensational!

They are honouring Agro’s legacy - earlier this year Jamie Dunn (Agro’s creator) passed away.

They are presenting best Children’s Show

The nominees are:

  • Do Not Watch This Show, ABC
  • Dreaming Big, NITV
  • Ginger and the Vegesaurs, ABC
  • Hard Quiz Kids, ABC
  • Knee High Spies, ABC
  • Play School, ABC

The Countown of best shows contineus

We’re back counting down the 20 best shows.

16 - Round The Twist (should have been in top 5, for sure)

15 - Offspring

14 - Prisoner

13 - Mother and Son

12 - Play School

Play School celebrated its 60th anniversary this year.

What a milestone!

Muster Dogs wins Best Structured Reality

This is Muster Dogs second Logies win.

Gold nominee Lisa Miller is up to accept the award with the show’s producer.

She looks STUNNING in that frock, can we just say.

“I am so glad that this show continues to resonate with Australians,” she says.

“It is such a beautiful show that reveals there is heart in our communities, and it makes us feel bloody good about the world.”

The next award is Best Structured Reality

And the nominees are:

  • Best Structured Reality Program
  • Farmer Wants A Wife, Seven Network
  • Gogglebox Australia, Network 10
  • Married at First Sight, 9Network
  • Muster Dogs, ABC
  • The Golden Bachelor, 9Network
  • The Hospital: In The Deep End, SBS

Travel Guides wins Best Lifestyle

“Travel Guides can always be relied upon for one thing...taking forever to reach the stage,” says the voiceover lady.

Stick them closer to the front, will ya?

Travel Guides is an audience fave, and this is the fifth year in a row they have won in their category.

Denise Scott is up with the crew offering to narrate their acceptance speech (she’s the show’s narrator in real life)!

“What a gift to narrate this show,” she says.
