Oasis reunion: Liam and Noel Gallagher hint at getting the band back together after decades-long feud
Oasis is definitely maybe getting back together.
The famously feuding Gallagher brothers look to be burying the bitter, bitter hatchet for a reunion tour next year.
And there’s a lot on the line if they do – a £50 million ($97 million) payday according to MailOnline.

His latest appearance was at the Reading Festival where after his set, an image of a date and a time (August 27, 2024 at 8am UK time, which converts to 5pm AEST) flashed up on screen in the signature Oasis font.
Liam then posted the same video to his social media accounts. But the more telling move is that Noel did as well, as did the official Oasis profile – all within five minutes of each other. That level of co-ordination has been previously unseen in the Gallaghers’ long-running conflict.
Liam had also dedicated the song Half the World Away to Noel during his Reading performance and also posted on social media, “I never did like that word FORMER”.
To add to the intrigue, Noel’s daughter Anais recently “liked” a post from Liam on Instagram. While they are family, Liam and Anais have also previously beefed.
In 2019, Noel posted a screenshot he claimed was a message Liam sent to Anais, which said, “Tell your step Mam to be very careful”, referring to Noel’s now ex-wife Sara MacDonald who had described Liam’s Glastonbury set that year as a “fat twat doing a tribute act”.
Noel was furious and publicly called out Liam and added, “So, you’re sending threatening messages via my teenage daughter, are you now? You were always good at intimidating women though, eh?”
Noel and MacDonald filed for divorce in 2023 and observers had previously said that particularly rancorous bad blood between Liam and MacDonald was an obstacle to a thawing between the brothers.
Oasis broke up in 2009 when Noel announced he was done. He told The Guardian at the time, “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
While the band did not officially split until then, Noel had walked away before including in the early days during Oasis’s 1994 North American tour.
After the first night of the tour at famed LA club Whisky a Go Go, Noel fled to San Francisco for a spell following what he said was a big, meth-fuelled fight.
There was also an explosive brawl onboard a ferry to Amsterdam in 1995 which became a sticking point between the brothers, as detailed in the documentary Supersonic, along with many, many squabbles and rows.
In the years following their split, Noel and Liam have publicly sledged each other and Noel has repeatedly said he had no interest in reforming the band unless someone paid him £100 million.
Both have persisted with solo careers and Liam sang “Wonderwall” at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics after Noel played “cat-and-mouse” with the event organisers over whether as songwriter he would give permission for the anthemic 1995 hit to be performed.
After the Reading and social media teases in the past day, the rumours are that Oasis will perform next year at iconic UK venues including Heaton and Wembley Stadium, as well as Glastonbury.
It will all be clear tomorrow.
