Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban divorce: Aussie radio interview that signalled split was coming
An awkward radio interview earlier this month has gone viral after Keith Urban appeared annoyed at a line of questioning about his estranged wife, Nicole Kidman, and their relationship.
As news of the pair’s split and Ms Kidman filing for divorce from the country superstar broke on Monday, a conversation with Gold 101.7’s Jonesy & Amanda on September 2 provided an insight into the impending announcement.
Cohost Amanda Kellar was keen to scratch the surface on the golden couple’s love story and provide an insight into the 19-year marriage for the listener’s.

“If you hadn’t both been there that day, would your paths somewhere have inevitably crossed? Or maybe this incredible life story wouldn’t have happened,” Keller asked of Urban.
“No, I think it would,” he replied.
Keller then asked if Urban believed in fate and after meeting his award-winning actor wife.
The response from Urban was an icy two word answer, “no idea”, followed by silence.
“I just often think that. That if you weren’t at that event, maybe you don’t have the same friendship group, it may never have happened,” Keller added to lighten the mood.
“You never know. Anyway, moving on,” Urban said as he seemingly grew tired of the line of questioning.
The Jonesy & Amanda Show’s social media shared the clip on Tuesday, captioning it: “Prior to this, Keith Urban loved chatting about Nicole Kidman with us! He encouraged it, actually.”
It was revealed on Wednesday that Kidman filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. It came only a day after it was announced the pair had separated.
People revealed a source close to Urban said the country singer has “just been going through some stuff” of late.
“He has been making questionable choices for some time now and this was not the case of them just drifting apart,” another source close to the Kidman camp said.
“Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed,” the source said. “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on.”
The former couple was last seen in public together in June at an event in Nashville and share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
