While Nollsie may have come number two in Australian Idol, it’s clear he is a winner in one Hollywood star’s heart.

Australian actress Maia Mitchell celebrated her 33rd birthday at a New South Wales pub on the weekend, with the star throwing a Shannon Noll themed party to mark the occasion.

NSW-born Mitchell has made a name for herself in Hollywood over the last decade thanks to her roles in the Teen Beach Movie franchise and the Artful Dodger — but the actress proved she was still a true-blue Aussie at heart despite her slew of A-list credits.

In a five-minute video shared to her 914,000 followers, the star revealed that party guests were greeted with a photo of Australia’s favourite runner up on a sign leading to the Hotel Metropole’s upstairs beer garden.

Her celebration bash included Nollsie trivia, where teams were asked 12 questions about the ‘Australian singer, songwriter, and legend’.

Despite the slew of fun themed activities about the singer-songwriter, it was clear that the highlight of the extremely Aussie bash was a surprise cameo from the man of the hour.

A family member invited Maia to the front to be crowned “the person who knows every lyric of Shannon Noll’s songs”

As the crowd chanted her name in celebration, the actress was left stunned when Noll himself strolled in behind her.

The Teen Beach star was seen collapsed on the floor after spotting the Australian Idol contestant, covering her mouth in shock.

Once Mitchell was able to recover from the surprise, 50-year-old Noll serenaded the actress and her crowd of cheering guests with a live performance of 2004 hit, Drive.

The singer even paused between belts to sign some giddy attendees’ chests.

A performance from Nollsie wouldn’t be complete without his most famous track, however.

Embracing the young actress, the Australian singer closed his set with a performance of his 2004 number one single What About Me — with Noll even passing Mitchell the microphone to let her sing the infamous chorus.

The crowd went crazy as the track drew to a close, with the swarm of people surrounding Nollsie heard belting out the lyrics before dissolving into a chorus of screams.

After the song ended, Mitchell was seen crying again as she got a hug and a cheek kiss from the singer — which sent her slinking to the floor for the second time that evening.

Mitchell later shared a Tik Tok video of the crooner lipsynching to his latest single THE FUTURE with party attendees, with Nollsie seen using a pool stick as an impromptu microphone.

After Mitchell shared videos and photos of the themed bash on Tuesday evening, Aussies flooded the comments in shock at the unlikely duo.

“Two Aussie icons, what a party,” one fan wrote.

“The most insane crossover of all time,” another said.

“Can Nollsie do our birthday party now?” a hopeful Aussie asked.

The star ended her stream of content about the night by sharing her simple birthday wish to her thousands of fans: “All I want for my birthday is for you to stream Shannon Noll”.

Mitchell’s wild birthday bash comes just one week after she was announced as the new ambassador for Bulgari, joining a slew of international superstars including Zendaya and Anne Hathaway.
