A man has gone viral after he ran 26km for his girlfriend’s 26th birthday with no headphones, focussing all his attention on thoughts of his partner.
Simran Chugg, known for her joint Instagram page with her boyfriend Avik Bhattacharya, had been planning to run the same number of kilometres as the age she was turning.
“I just turned 26 and I wanted to run 26km on my 26th birthday. But I was really sick and I couldn’t do it,” she told the couple’s followers.

The video then cuts to a clip of Mr Bhattacharya single handedly raising the bar for all boyfriends in 2026.
“My girlfriend just turned 26, so I’m going to be running 26km for her birthday,” he said.
The video is then made up of clips of him running as he shares thoughtful messages about Ms Chugg.
“I’m running without earphones. Thought it would be a good idea to recollect my memories with her, pray for her,” he said.
Countless of kilometres into the run, Mr Bhattacharya continues to focus his thoughts solely on his girlfriend.
“I am praying for her to have good physical health this year, because good physical health is the base for everything else,” he said.
After battling toward the end and joking that he wished Ms Chugg was only 23-years-old so he could finish the run early, he completed the enormous effort.
“All 26km done. Happy Birthday Simran,” he said as he blew a kiss to the camera.
Their followers couldn’t believe the hours long romantic gesture.
“The sweetest thing EVER,” one Instagram user commented.
“What in the 2000s romcom is thisss????”
“Now should I write NO WAY 26 times. I mean where on earth can one find such a guy DAMN.”
