It’s four weeks to go until Wednesday Addams returns with her macabre vibes.

Netflix’s most popular English-language original series Wednesday dropped a new trailer today to tease what’s coming for the next batch of episodes.

But perhaps the more exciting announcement is that the cast will embark on a global tour which includes a stop in Australia.

The streamer has yet to confirm which stars will make the long journey down south, but surely it’s not too much to hope the entourage will include lead actor Jenna Ortega. After all, she is Wednesday, the show is called Wednesday, you get it.

Sydney’s Cockatoo Island will be transformed into Wednesday Island on August 16, which will be 10 days after the first batch of new episodes are released. Apparently, it will feature “chilling performances, in-world activations, and unearthly experiences to transport them to Nevermore and beyond”.

Australian fans can try to win a double pass to the experience.

A teaser trailer was released in April but the promo video out today gives audiences a better idea of what to expect when the Addams scion returns to her spooky school, Nevermore Academy.

No longer an outcast, her heroic feats in the previous season has made her a celebrated figure at school, not a position Wednesday is comfortable with. Not that she’ll have long to ruminate on her newfound fame – there’s another threat lurking about, and it could put her roomie Enid right in the crosshairs.

Confirmed casting for the new season includes Ortega, Emma Myers, Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, and Billie Piper while Fred Armisen, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd and Frances O’Connor will be guest stars.

The series created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar also features Tim Burton as executive producer and director.

The first season premiered in November 2022, and quickly rocketed up Netflix’s originals charts. It remains the most watched English-language Netflix original series with 252 million views. Squid Game’s first season is number one overall with 265 million views.

It’s been almost three years since that first drop. Wednesday season two’s eight episodes will be released in two parts – August 6 for part one and September 3 for part two.
