The star tried some unusual delicacies.

Jetstar has launched a massive sale on one-way flights to Japan, with more than 25,000 seats up for grabs at a discounted price.

The Japan Sale “comes as the country’s popularity as a holiday destination for Australians continues to grow,” a Jetstar spokesperson said.

The airline’s latest data shows demand for travel to Japan from Australia has nearly doubled since last year.

To date, more than 100,000 Jetstar passengers have travelled to Japan for under $350.

Afterpay data corroborates this, with a 225 per cent increase in customers buying flights from Australia to Osaka, compared with pre-COVID data. Flights to Tokyo have also increased by 47 per cent.

Of these flights to Japan, 84 per cent are booked through Afterpay by Zillenials, proving it’s truly the trendy place to travel.

Flights are available to the hotspot as part of Jetstar’s sale from just $249.

Travellers can purchase flights from Cairns in Queensland to Osaka from $249, or to Tokyo from $269.

Flights from Brisbane to Osaka are available from $299, or to Tokyo from $319.

Would-be travellers can also secure flights from Sydney to Osaka from $329.

Travel dates are different for each route, but include flights from late January to early September next year.

Limited seats in November this year are also available.

The sale will open to Club Jetstar members from midday AEDT on Monday, and will be available exclusively to members for 12 hours.

It will then open to the public for the rest of the week before ending on Friday at 11.59pm, or when flights sell out.

Osaka named a top destination

The travel publishing giant’s list is spread across cities, countries and regions, with Genoa in Italy, Curitiba in Brazil and Edmonton in Canada all making the cut as cities worth putting on dream travel lists.

Toulouse in France topped the list of best cities, followed by Puducherry (formerly known as Pondicherry) in India and Bansko in Bulgaria.

Cameroon, Lithuania and Fiji were named the three best countries to visit.

The Low Country and Coastal area of Georgia, located on the European and Asian border, was named the best region to visit, followed by Terje in Nepal and Chiriqui in Panama.

Australia got a nod, with Tasmania’s Launceston and Tamar Valley named the fourth-best region to visit.
