Albo is a ‘Seinfeld Prime Minister’

The Coalition is blasting the Albanese Government for failing to secure Australia’s trade interests as Donald Trump threatens to raise baseline tariffs from 10 per cent to up to 20 per cent.

Shadow Foreign Minister Michaelia Cash says the Government’s “strategy of hope” is not enough when serious economic consequences loom.

“This is now 259 days since Donald Trump won the United States election and the Prime Minister still hasn’t secured a meeting with President Trump,” she said on Sunrise.

“Mr Albanese needs to stop being the Seinfeld Prime Minister, stop being a show about nothing, step up, get a meeting with President Trump, and advocate on behalf of Australians.

“I just remind the Australian people that when the Coalition was last in government, we successfully negotiated a 0 per cent tariff.

“Where is the action on behalf of Australians? Where is the sense of urgency that we are going into bat for our country?

“Hope is not a strategy. Let’s step up, take action and go into bat for Team Australia.”
