Soccer: The Socceroos are out for what would be a historic first win in a World Cup knockout game against Egypt in Dallas.
A 0-0 draw with Paraguay in their final group stage game made a certainty of Australia qualifying for the newly-expanded round of 32. They have waited more than a week for this game, having last played on Friday WST time.
Meanwhile, Egypt slipped into second amid a chaotic finish to Group G - but global superstar Mohamed Salah, who limped from the field in their 1-1 draw with Iran, has been passed fit and will start.

Hello!
Josh Kempton is reporting live.
All happening
It’s all happening early in the second half!
After neither Harry Souttar nor Connor Metcalfe could get to the back post and knock in an equaliser, Mohamed Hany stayed down after copping what looked to be a blow to the head.
Surprisingly, the Egypt right-back was initially cleared to continue, but is now on the sidelines.

Egypt go so close again!
Barely 10 seconds into the second half, Egypt very nearly had their second!
Substitute Kai Trewin was caught napping by Omar Marmoush, who ghosted in behind but sent a massive chance wide.
‘46: AUS 0-1 EGY
Bos substituted off
And now Jordy Bos’ substitution out of the game has been confirmed.
He will be replaced by Kai Trewin, who will be making his first appearance for the tournament.
HT: AUS 0-1 EGY
Bos looks done
Jordy Bos was carried from the pitch and looked very ginger.
It would be a huge surprise if the Socceroos star was able to take his place for the second half, which would be a hammer blow.
Australia’s assistant coach Paul Okon termed the tackle from Egypt’s Ramy Rabia which resulted in Bos going down as “terrible”.

Half-time and Bos injury concern
That’s half-time in Dallas, with the Socceroos down 1-0.
Very later in the half, Jordy Bos was collected in a big tackle and remains down to receive treatment.
We will keep you posted on the star’s condition.
HT: AUS 0-1 EGY
Little penalty shout
Christian Volpato got tangled up with some Egypt defenders at the back post as a cross came into the box.
Referee Gustavo Tejera and the VAR saw no need to intervene, which looked a reasonable decision.
‘45+4: AUS 0-1 EGY
Volpato wide
Cristian Volpato fashioned another sight at goal, only to send a left-foot curler wide.
The bolter striking the crossbar in the early exchanges seems a long time ago now!
‘45+1: AUS 0-1 EGY
Added time
We are now into added time of the first half, with another five minutes to be played before the main break.
Having improved since the hydration break, the Socceroos would love a chance to equalise before they return to the dressing rooms.
‘45: AUS 0-1 EGY
Nestory searching for a chance
Nestory Irankunda is threatening to fashion a half-chance into something more meaningful with his pace.
Often caught with his back to goal against Paraguay, the 20-year-old seems to be closer to the last shoulder of Egypt’s back-line today.
‘40: AUS 0-1 EGY
Behich draws save
Australia have finally managed to get a set piece to work, with a long throw from Alessandro Circati getting all the way to Aziz Behich at the back post.
The left-back fired his shot straight at the keeper, but the Socceroos are beginning to threaten in dead-ball situations.
‘35: AUS 0-1 EGY
