Soccer: The Socceroos are out for what would be a historic first win in a World Cup knockout game against Egypt in Dallas.
A 0-0 draw with Paraguay in their final group stage game made a certainty of Australia qualifying for the newly-expanded round of 32. They have waited more than a week for this game, having last played on Friday WST time.
Meanwhile, Egypt slipped into second amid a chaotic finish to Group G - but global superstar Mohamed Salah, who limped from the field in their 1-1 draw with Iran, has been passed fit and will start.

Hello!
Blunt in attack again.
Having been hardly sighted throughout the game so far, Nestory Irankunda managed to win a free kick for the Socceroos some 40 yards from goal.
After a lengthy day for Mohamed Hany to recieve treatment - and cheers from Australia’s fans as he was forced to leave the pitch - another set piece came to nothing.
‘33: AUS 0-1 EGY
Star power
A massive name from Hollywood is in the house for this game.
‘31: AUS 0-0 EGY
Salah lurking
A matter of concern for the Socceroos will be that Egypt’s superstar Mohamed Salah has hardly had a kick of the ball so far.
The global superstar does not need many opportunities to have a huge say on a game.
‘29: AUS 0-1 EGY
Ange’s new gig
Only minutes before this game started, news broke that former Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou had taken on a new gig.
‘27: AUS 0-1 EGY
Early hydration break
The referee has whistled for something of an early hydration break in Dallas.
Tony Popovic will be glad to have a chance to re-group his side.
‘23: AUS 0-1 EGY
Socceroos under threat
Mostafa Ziko fired a shot wide after getting in behind the Socceroos’ defence.
Although he was rightly flagged as offside by the assistant referee, that may send another warning shot for Australia.
‘20: AUS 0-1 EGY
Marmoush nearly makes it two!
Egypt’s star stiker Omar Marmoush very nearly doubled his side’s advantage, with Socceroos captain Harry Souttar making a crucial block.
Egypt have well and truly gone up a gear here.
‘16: AUS 0-1 EGY
Egypt strike first!
Egypt have struck first in Dallas!
Jackson Irvine got in to block a shot from a set piece routine but the ball came back out to the other side, where a cross from Mostafa Ziko was headed home by Emam Ashour.
The Socceroos will be disappointed with how they switched off there.
‘13: AUS 0-1 EGY
Egypt nervy
Egypt appear to be battling some nerves, with their goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir not penalised for a heavy touch in his own penalty area.
But they have now won a free kick in a dangerous part of the pitch, with Salah standing over the ball.
‘11: AUS 0-0 EGY
The Bos follows up
The Socceroos have started bright here!
Jordy Bos - who looks to be stationed on the right again - charged into the box, only to be denied by a last-ditch challenge which sent the ball out for the corner.
Australia opted for a routine which played the ball short, but nothing came of it.
‘6: AUS 0-0 EGY
