AFL Draft Recap: West Coast Eagles add two more as Fremantle Dockers go for mature recruit

AFL DRAFT: Which young hopefuls will realise their AFL dream on night two of the national draft?
After an entertaining first round, we’re back for round two - and beyond.
There are still plenty of West Australians on the table after West Perth’s Jacob Farrow was the only WA product taken, picked up by Essendon in the top 10.
West Coast added No.1 pick Willem Duursma and Cooper Duff-Tytler with their first two selections before swooping on Josh Lindsay with their later pick.
Adam Sweid was the Dockers’ sole selection in the first round, after Essendon opted not to match the bid for their academy product.
See which West Aussies remain up for grabs in The West Australian’s AFL Draft Hub and follow all the action in our live blog below.
Pick 49 - Sydney
Max King, no not that Max King, is a Swan.
There was talk of him being selected last night but he has slipped down the boards.
Meet the new Docker
Fremantle have pinched a prospect from Geelong’s reserves side with their second pick of the AFL draft, bringing crafty forward Tobyn Murray to the club.
Pick 48 - North Melbourne
Hugo Mikunda adds another great name to the AFL as he joins the Roos!
He is a midfielder who will take some developing.
Dockers’ next pick
Fremantle have their next pick at 57 which is ten away.
They will be hoping Fred Rodriguez continues to slide down the order after some phantom drafts earlier in the year suggested he would be a top 20 selection.
The South Fremantle midfielder has an anxious wait ahead.
Another bid matched
North Melbourne wanted Koby Coulson but the midfielder will stay on the Gold Coast.
We could be seeing what the future of the draft begins to look like with teams getting better access to their academy products after spending the time and money to develop them.
We are nearly into the 50s pick wise.
WA for the win
Cody Curtin is off to Brisbane.
The key defender is the brother of Crow Daniel and caught plenty of attention when he played forward in the WAFL Colts grand final and kicked six majors.
He is tall and will work well under former Eagle Oscar Allen who traded to the reigning premiers during the trade period.
He goes at pick 43.
Eagles shock!
West Coast father/son Charlie Banfield is headed to St KIlda after the Eagles declined to match the Victorian club’s bid.
So another West Aussie goes off the board with pick 40.
Banfield is the son of Eagles premiership player Drew and is a handy midfielder who had a strong end to the season with Claremont.
HE’S MINE!
West Coast have matched a bid by Fremantle for next generation academy product Tylah Williams.
The Eagles snare the Swan Districts product with pick 39.
DRAFT SHOCK
West Coast have passed on next generation academy product Koby Evans, opting not to match a bid by Brisbane.
The midfielder joins the Lions with pick 38, becoming the third West Aussie selected.

ANOTHER WA BOY!
Sam Swadling becomes the second West Australian selected, joining fellow West Perth product Jacob Farrow at the elite level.
The midfielder joins Collingwood with pick 37.
