AFL Draft Recap: West Coast Eagles add two more as Fremantle Dockers go for mature recruit
AFL DRAFT: Which young hopefuls will realise their AFL dream on night two of the national draft?
After an entertaining first round, we’re back for round two - and beyond.
There are still plenty of West Australians on the table after West Perth’s Jacob Farrow was the only WA product taken, picked up by Essendon in the top 10.
West Coast added No.1 pick Willem Duursma and Cooper Duff-Tytler with their first two selections before swooping on Josh Lindsay with their later pick.
Adam Sweid was the Dockers’ sole selection in the first round, after Essendon opted not to match the bid for their academy product.

Essendon have taken Max Kondogiannis with pick 36, a defender from the Oakleigh Chargers.
And another brother!
Jevan Phillipou, the younger brother of former first-round pick and St Kilda forward Matteas, heads to Sydney with pick 35.
Touted as a bargain buy, the midfielder was rated in the late teens but slips late into the second round to land at Dean Cox’s Swans.
Essendon are now on the clock.

West Coast have moved down the order in a trade with Hawthorn, securing some future picks in the process.
The Eagles receive pick 52 in this year’s draft, as well as a future third rounder (for 2026) and a future third rounder (for 2027).
With pick 34, the Hawks select left footed midfielder Jack Dalton.
More brothers reunited!
Hunter Holmes joins his older brother Max at Geelong after the Cats, taken with pick 33.
Likened to Carlton’s Sam Walsh, Hunter is also a midfielder like his star sibling.

Bid passed!
Collingwood have swooped on Brisbane academy product Tyan Prindable with pick 32.
The Lions opted not to match the bid for the midfielder and Pies coach Craig McRae appeared elated.

And a few bolters to kick things off.
Melbourne selected Thomas Matthews, a forward from Gippsland, with pick 30.
Richmond then took forward Zane Peucker from Woodville-West Torrens with pick 31.

EAGLES PICK IN
West Coast have selected Oakleigh Chargers midfielder Sam Allen with pick 29.
He has been compared to Geelong young gun Ollie Dempsey.
Unfortunately his draft season was ended by an ACL injury.

A live pick swap and Gold Coast jump up to pick 28, trading a future second rounder in 2026 to Carlton.
The Suns select Avery Thomas, a defender from Tasmania with that selection.
