Costly errors

England have thrown the ball away twice in the opening minutes of the second half as they attempt to overcome Australia’s double-digit lead.

It doesn’t look like the Roses have made any changes and the Australians are business as usual.

Score is Aus 37, ENG 26

HT: Australia 35, England 24

England are simply hanging in at the moment.

This is very similiar to the early meeting between these sides.

On that occassion, Australia dominated for three quarter before England got some respect back in the last.

Will this be the same?

In control

The Aussies have taken full control now.

They are using a measured pace with their ball movement but know when to flick the switch.

England are nowhere near as desperate to intercept as Jamaica were last night and it means there’s no pressure on the Diamonds.

Australia up 32-20.

12 for 12

WA’s Sophie Garbin only took four shots for the Dianmonds in the semifinal.

She already has 12 today and has not missed any.

Making up for a tough performance against Jamaica.

Australia up 22-14.

QT: Australia 19, England 11

The Aussies are intercepting everywhere and look a different team to the one that got rolled by Jamaica.

They have forced England to go to the bench already and they will be making some more changes at the break.

No intensity

Niether side are super eager to be in the consolation match but as the game wears on the rivalry is sure to come to the fore.

The Aussies have truned a two-goal deficet into a four-goal lead with three minutes left to the first break.

Goal for goal

The Aussies do appear up for the fight and should be confident after having beaten England in the pool round.

Their defence has been sharp and they are moving the ball quickly.

The crowd is on the English side as Australia lead 5-4.

It is also Kiera Austin’s 50th match for Australia.

One better

The English finished fourth in Birmingham and have the chance to go one better here.

The Aussies were left devasated by defeat to Jamaica yesterday but must bounce back to ensure they don’t miss the medals altogether.
