Sport: The track-and-field action roars to life on Day 4 in Glasgow, with a host of Aussies raring to go.
The likes of Lachie Kennedy, Eddie Nketia and Rohan Browning will all be putting forward their case, while the swimming action doesn’t stop as the schedule becomes stacked.

Nketia on song
Eddie Nketia has aced his first run in an Aussie singlet!
He takes second in a fast heat and should be through to the semifinals.
The big man started strongly and powered through the middle but just got mowed down.
Nketia is just under his personnel best.
Browning speaks
Rohan Browning was not super happy with his run, but he goes through as the 16th of 17 qualifiers for the semifinal.
“Hopefully, go through and work on it,” he told Channel 7.
“It’s gusty. I think to your point about the top 17, it’s extremely plausible that one heat will get a massive gust of wind behind them, and the other one gets a headwind.
“So, I’m not sure it’s the most equitable approach, but it’s above my pay grade.”
He had a small cold coming into the event, but says he “kicked it” yesterday.
“I feel like I kicked that maybe yesterday, so I’m feeling good again,” he said.
“I’m happy with the form I’m in. There’s been ups and downs for sure. I changed coaches last season, and it takes time to adapt to those new programs.
“When I put it into context, I feel like I’ve improved on the areas I needed to, so now I just need to figure out the rest.”
Great start!
Rohan Browning started very well but got hauled in over the last 30 metres to come in second in his heat.
He looked to be on track to get the win but tightened in the finish.
The top 17 from the 11 heats will go through and his time of 10.24 should be fine.
Turner powers through
Matt Turner powered out of the blocks in the second heat of the 200m Butterfly and the Aussies sees off the defending champion Lewis Clareburt to take the fastest time.
Se-Bom Lee finishes fourth and appears to have missed the final.
Temple time
Matt Temple has finished third in his heat with a time of 1:59:06
He was slow over the first 100 metres and let the Scott named Scott (Duncan Scott) push the pace.
However, his surge over the final 50m should be enough to see him through to the final with just one heat to come.
Name clash
Rohan Browning, who will run in heat seven, will have competition on his hands just to be the fastest Rohan at the Games.
Jamaica’s Rohan Watson has a PB of 9.91 and flew through his heat at 10.11 but didn’t look stressed.
The GOAT
The stars are not limited to the track at Scotstoun Stadium with Bruce McAveney in the commentary chair for Channel 7.
The weather is one to watch today with dark skies and blustering squalls around the area.

Australia’s golden assault on the pool continue shortly as well.
Matthew Temple will be the first Australian back into the pool for day four with the 200m Butterfly before three Aussies go head-to-head in the very next heat.
The pool action starts in 10 minutes.
First heat
One of the favourites in Nigerian Favour Ashe has cruised through the first heat.
He does not come into the event seeded as Australia’s Lachie Kennedy is but he will breeze through to the semifinals to join the Aussie.

Today will see the start of the athletics program and there is no easing into things.
The fastest men in the Commonwealth are up first in the 100m sprints with Australia having plenty of candidates.
