Cricket: Australia’s bowlers bounced back from an embarrassing defeat to Bangladesh in Darwin by knocking over the tourists for 64 at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena, but their batters produced another misfire.

Recap all the action here!

Marnus out!

That will heap the pressure on Marnus Labuschagne!

It’s a second wicket in the over for Shoriful Islam, with a delivery which ricocheted off his thigh pad going back onto the stumps to bowl him for four.

Instant impact for Shoriful!

Bangladesh’s left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam is into the attack for the first time this series and has needed no time to make an impact!

With his second ball, his sharp in-swinger proved too good for Travis Head, who has been bowled and is on his way for 22.

Heady times

The outfield is lightning quick for the first-ever Test match at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena, and Travis Head is cashing in.

The Australian opener has gone along to 22 from 25 balls, including four boundaries.

Marnus in and under the pump

The under-pressure Marnus Labuschagne is now at the crease in Mackay and Australia’s No.3 desperately needs a big score.

He got away with an outside edge which went to the boundary, although it was never a real catching chance due to his soft hands.

Once the ICC’s No.1-ranked Test batter in the world, he comes into this game having averaged just 23.23 in his last 22 Tests.

Renshaw goes

It’s an unhappy return to Test cricket for Matt Renshaw!

Taskin Ahmed got the ball in the right area and Australia’s new opener was squared up, with an attempt to work the ball through midwicket creating a simple catching chance for Tanzid Hasan at third slip.

That’s exactly what Bangladesh needed.

Renshaw away

A thickish outside edge which raced away to the boundary got Matt Renshaw off the mark in his return to the side.

The Queensland left-hander is the owner of a fine Sheffield Shield record at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena, having compiled hundreds in two of his three innings threre.

Opposite starts

Taskin Ahmed was not able to replicate what Mitchell Starc did with the first ball of the game this morning, with his effort swinging down the leg side and beating Litton Das behind the stumps to go away for four byes.

Bangladesh’s opening bowler quickly found his radar later in the over, drawing a play-and-miss from Matt Renshaw from the first delivery the called-up opener faced.

Renshaw’s return

Matt Renshaw is about to resume his Test career alongside Travis Head at the top of Australia’s order.

He has taken a long path to get back here.

All out

A frustrating 10th-wicket partnership has now ended, with Shoriful Islam handing Mitchell Starc his sixth wicket courtesy of a tickle off his glove through to Alex Carey behind the stumps.

Starc finishes with figures of 6-12 from his 10 magnificent overs.

Australia’s new opener Matt Renshaw will be at the crease alongside Travis Head in around 10 minutes.

BAN: 64

Off the square

The square drive is certainly proving a profitable stroke for Bangladesh tail-ender Taijul Islam.

After playing one described as the “shot of the match” by Channel Seven’s Ricky Ponting in Darwin, he has followed up with two mroe sublime boundaries with the same stroke in Mackay.

Bangladesh’s 10th-wicket stand is now worth 24.
