A dramatic day one in Sydney saw a captain dropped, 11 wickets fall and fiery exchanges what will day two have in store as Australia looks to overcome India’s total on a spicy pitch?

Follow all the action live.

ANALYSIS

Scott Boland the hero again to keep Australia alive in the Border-Gavaskar series.

STUMPS IND 6/141 lead by 145

The brilliant Boland bowls the last.

There’s a couple that beat the edge but he gets off strike with a single to fine-leg before Sundar squirts two through backward point and that’s stumps.

15 wickets on day two that leaves the Test match and the series in the balance.

That Smith drop could be costly knowing it would have gone straight to Khawaja.

If India can stretch the lead to 200 they’ll be firm favourites.

But Australia know they’re now wicket away from the tail and with no word on if Bumrah will bowl with the second innings could be a massive blow.

DROPPED

Jadeja edges Webster behind and Steve Smith dives across Usman Khawaja at first slip and it hits him on his wrist and goes down.

Third time Australia have dropped Jadeja this Test.

He should have just left it for Khawaja which would have gone straight too him as Smith apologies immediately.

BOLAND HAS FOUR!

Since Pant’s dismissal, Australia has been able to build the pressure.

Nitish Reddy tries to break the shackles driving on the up off Boland. But it comes off the toe end of the bat and it’s chipped straight to Pat Cummins who completes a simple catch.

IND 6/129

Nitish Reddy to the crease

Amidst Pant’s whirlwind assault, Jadeja crept to 2 off 22 balls and was well beaten outside off on multiple occasions.

This pitch is still not easy to bat on so will Reddy take over Pant’s attack?

He’s off the mark with a single to mid-on.

“What a knock from Rishabh Pant, 61 off just 33 balls,” Simon Katich says on Channel 7 and 7plus.

“Pat Cummins sensed the moment he needed to the ball in his hands after drinks break, took two balls to get the job done. That could well be the most important wicket this series.”

CUMMINS GETS PANT

The Aussies will be breathing a huge sigh of relief with that one as Pant flashes a cut outside off and sends an outside edge through to Caray.

A spectacular innings ends on 61 from 33 that pushed India’s lead to 128 but what a breakthrough from the captain.

Will normal Test cricket resume?

50 for Pant!

His first of the series and off just 29 balls the second-fasted for India in Test cricket.

What a time to do it with the series on the line.

Starc bowls and the pads and he hoiks him high forward of square for a massive six.

SIX MORE! Goes again this one goes finer but the same result as it’s sent into the crowd. This is a match winning knock and Australia have no answers to this onslaught.

Lead over 100

Short wide and Pant crashes an uppercut.

Webster drops short and Pant is falling over as he pulls it for four more.

CRUNCH. Skips down and goes over extra cover this time.

DROPPED. Tough chance with Carey up to the stumps as a thick edge goes off his gloves but lands safely.

Pant continues to attack

He charges Boland and smashes him to long-on this time before a wild slog goes off the top edge over the covers.

He’s 22 off 12 and if he’s still batting like this half an hour the game could already be beyond Australia’s reach.

Webster has his first Test wicket!

Shubman Gill charges Webster but he can only send a thin inside edge through to Carey who dives well to take the catch clean.

It’s been a great day for Webster with India now 4/78 but Pant looking dangerous.
