Hello
Brook’s brain fade
Harry Brook has handed Australia his wicket.
There is no other way to describe his wild reverse-sweep from a sharp-spinning off-break from Nathan Lyon, which has sent him on his way for 30.
That could seriously deflate England as they look to track down this record-breaking chase.
ENG 4-177
Crawley and Brook bring up 50
In what is bizarrely just the second time the pair have batted together at Test level, Harry Brook and Zak Crawley have brought up a half-century stand.
The pair took 13 from a Travis Head over which saw a Brook reverse sweep race to the boundary and Crawley thump a full toss straight back down the ground for four.
ENG 3-171
Have a drink
The players are having a drink at the halfway mark of the third session.
Australia were able to get the key wicket of Joe Root shortly after the lunch break, but Zak Crawley (61) and Harry Brook (19) have done their best to rebuild.
ENG 3-149
Starc introduced
Mitchell Starc has been held back for nearly an hour of the third session by Pat Cummins but the man who has been England’s chief destroyer in this series has been re-introduced into the attack.
The left-armer started around the wicket to Harry Brook as he appears to be concerned about footmarks on the other side of the crease.
ENG 3-143
Brook in his bubble
Harry Brook is trying to get inventive in his search to get away, attempting to scoop Scott Boland and bringing out the reverse sweep with regularity to Nathan Lyon.
But he has still managed just 10 from the first 34 balls he has faced.
ENG 3-135
Brook’s battle
Is this Harry Brook’s day?
The one-time No.1 Test batter in the world has largely flattered to decieve on this tour.
Brook has scored seven runs off his first 25 deliveries, well below his career strike rate of 87.36.
ENG 3-131
Zak attack to 50
Zak Crawley has brought up a fighting half-century by driving Nathan Lyon back down the ground for three.
The milestone has not come at a quick pace by his own standards but has given him a base to get a big score his team desperately needs.

ENG 3-128
Head’s Test
Travis Head can do no wrong.
England were happy to target Nathan Lyon before the tea break but have found the South Australian part-timer hard to get away, with his four overs costing only nine runs.
ENG 3-120
Captain Fantastic
You wouldn’t know this is Pat Cummins’ first game of competitive cricket in the better part of six months.
The Australian captain, who just sent down a maiden to Zak Crawley, has figures of 3-19 from his nine overs.
ENG 3-110
Captain Cummins gets Root!
Pat Cummins has prized the critical breakthrough for Australia, sending Joe Root on his way for 39.
England’s star could not help but fiddle at a ball outside off stump and paid the price with his wicket, with Alex Carey completing a comfortable catch.
The tourists remain 326 runs adrift of their victory target.
