Jofra Archer has ended Australia’s innings, with Scott Boland popping a bouncer up in the air to be dismissed caught and bowled.

The hosts will be looking for the first of the 10 wickets they will need to win the Ashes in the approximately 10 minutes which will be played before lunch, while England are staring down a record-breaking chase of 434.

Scott Boland survived the hat-trick ball, leaving a wide Brydon Carse delivery well outside off stump alone.

Mitchell Starc then drove the England seamer down the ground for four, encapsulating a series where he has captured some wickets but been very expensive.

England called for a review thinking Mitchell Starc had gloved his second delivery of the day down the leg side but replays showed it had come off his thigh pad.

Inglis edged a nice delivery from Josh Tongue through to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith to depart for 10.

Carey gloved a short ball right into a trap which had been set with Harry Brook at leg gully, but has played his part of batting Australia into a dominant position.

Already the first Australian wicketkeeper to make both a hundred and a half-century in the same Ashes Test match, he will be looking to make more history by again bringing up three figures.
