Paris Olympics 2024 Day 13: Team USA survive Serbia fight and launch massive comeback to win semifinal
Day 12 was a historic day in Paris as Australia surged to their best ever gold medal haul at an Olympics, is there more joy to come today?

Lead being eaten into
This feels like it’s got the makings of a thriller.
Team USA are starting to chip away at this lead again. Kevin Durant just drained a three and a foul off the ball on Anthony Davis means they got the ball back and LeBron made it a six-point play.
They lead by five.
It’s all over for Caitlin Parker
It’s a unanimous decision victory for Qian Li against WA’s Caitlin Parker.
Parker had the best of the first round, Li dominated and swept the second, but the third felt more even. She ends up being the beneficiary of her good work in close and she swept the last too.
That was a serious recovery.
Parker is a bronze medallist as her campaign comes to an end.
Third round done
Both boxers are looking pretty weary at the end of the third round. Neither were particularly busy late.
We’re about to see how it lands.
Caitlin got a nice little one-two in that’ll be fresh for the judges.

A MASSIVE four-point play at the end of the third from Marko Guduric has Serbia up by 13, 76-63 with a quarter to play against Team USA.
This could be the shock of the Olympics brewing here.
Li evens it up
She wore a couple in that second round Caitlin Parker and has a bit of damage to the nose.
It’s a clean sweep in the second round for Li, she was able to switch up the pressure a bit, despite looking a little wobbly on her feet at one stage.
Good to see Charlie Senior straight back out after his defeat to support the fellow West Aussie.

Parker took her time to work into that one, but she did get a couple of nice jabs to land late in the round.

It’s another West Aussie in the boxing, with Caitlin Parker in a battle for a gold medal match.
She’s up against Qian Li in the semifinal.
Upset update
It’s an 11-pont half-time lead for Serbia, who were up by 25 early in the second over Team USA in the men’s basketball semifinal.
Is it time for a shake-up for Steve Kerr? He’s got the pretty fresh Jayson Tatum parked on the bench. Steph Curry has 20 of their points at the main break.
LeBron James was fired up late in that quarter, both at the officials and at Bogdan Bogdanovich. He even gave him the ‘too small’ cele after posting up and scoring on him.

They needed just one of their two match points to get the job done after giving up a set for the first time in this tournament.
A massive fight from the Aussie girls, but they are still in the mix for bronze at the incredible Eiffel Tower Stadium.
That one felt worthy of the gold medal match!
