Recap all the action from the penultimate day in Paris in our live blog.

Rousseau up to fourth

He’s nailed his round three dive and sits just 12 points back from China’s Yuan Cao in the lead.

Jaxon Bowshire is clinging onto a a qualification spot currently sitting in 12th.

ICYMI

If you hadn’t heard of Raygun before yesterday you surely would have seen the video of her breakingdancing routine on social media after it went viral.

She didn’t win a single point in any of her three dance-offs and left a few viewers scratching their heads over the routine.

Sport climbing final

Oceana McKenzie is the first Australian to make it through to an Olympic final in the sport climbing discipline.

She’s made a strong start scoring a maximum 25 points on her first element to sit in a tie with first. A long way to go yet but it’s a great start.

Alyce Wood misses K1 final

Wood is up in the 500m K1 semifinal.

She doesn’t get a great start but quickly moves up to third.

But she can’t catch China’s Nan Wang despite a fast finish and would miss out on the A medal final with only the top two going through by half a bot length.

Men’s 10m semifinal underway

Australia’s Jaxon Bowshire is off to a solid start with 140.20 from his first two dives while Cassiel Rousseau scored 71.40 with his first dive.

Marathon gold for Ethiopia

Tamirat Tola wins 19 seconds ahead of Bashir Abdi from Belgium with Kenya’s Benson Kipruto taking bronze.

Tola won in a time of 2:06:26.

Patrick Tiernan was the best placed Australian finishing 24th in a time of (2:10:34).

Australia name flag bearers for closing ceremony

WA sailor Matt Wearn will carry the Australian flag at the closing ceremony alongside superstar swimmer Kaylee McKeown.

Wearn made history as the first man to win back-to-back golds in the laser class.

McKeown won both the 100m and 200m backstroke finals as she did in Tokyo to become one of our most decorated Olympians ever.

“Kaylee’s performances speak for themselves, to become Australia’s first four-time individual Olympic champion is extraordinary,” chef de mission Anna Meares said.

“Matt has shown incredible resilience to defend his Olympic title. Understanding the challenges he has overcome to be here in Paris, is a great testament to the athlete and person Matt is.

“He is very humble, despite making Olympic history as the first man to win the laser class back-to-back.”
