Royal insiders have given the public a rare glimpse into the life of Princess Charlotte, describing the young royal as the family’s “secret weapon” as she marks her 10th birthday.

The second child of the Prince and Princess of Wales has earned a reputation as the boss at Adelaide Cottage, with royal historian Marlene Koenig telling US Weekly, Princess Kate herself said Princess Charlotte is “independent and the one in charge”.

Whether she’s cringing at her parents’ public affection or making a fashion statement alongside her stylish relatives, Princess Charlotte’s blend of sass and self-assurance has been catching attention for years.

During last year’s Trooping the Colour, the princess was seen stepping in to correct her younger brother.

According to reports from professional lip readers, when Prince Louis began dancing to the bagpipes, Charlotte leaned over and said, “You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade”.

Louis’ reply? “I won’t”.

Even her father hasn’t been spared.

Prince William once revealed that Princess Charlotte burst into “floods of tears” after seeing him with a beard, prompting a swift shave.

While she’s still years away from official duties, Ms Koenig predicts Princess Charlotte will take on engagements after she turns 18, with her parents focused on giving her a normal childhood for now.

And behind palace gates, “normal” is exactly what the Wales children are getting.

In 2023, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined their parents at the Big Help Out event in Slough, surprising volunteers as they got hands-on renovating Scout huts.

Footage from the day showed Princess Charlotte accidentally dropping her s’more, only to discreetly eat the fallen biscuit moments later.

The down-to-earth moment won over royal fans online, with many joking, “even the royals follow the five-second rule”.

Whether she’s commanding a parade or toasting marshmallows, Princess Charlotte is carving out her place in royal life—with confidence, charm, and a voice that’s already making itself heard.
