Spotsylvania County Virginia: Mass shooting leaves at least three dead and gunmen on run in US

Police have locked down a large area of a US town US after a mass shooting left three people dead and several others fighting for life.
At least three people have been confirmed as being shot to death with three others injured during the shooting rampage which occurred in a townhouse complex in Spotsylvania County Virginia on Tuesday.
Major Elizabeth Scott, a spokeswoman for the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that at about 5.30pm local time multiple 911 distress calls about a shooting were received.

Major Scott said police were urging the public to stay clear of the area and as yet no arrests have been made.
“There’s dozens upon dozens of officers out actively looking for suspects and preserving the crime scene,” Major Scott said.
The people injured in the mass shooting in the area of Olde Greenwich Circle have been taken to hospitals and their condition is unknown.
“At this point in time I don’t know that we have any suspects in custody, so we’re asking the public to please stay clear of the area, let the investigators do their job,” Major Scott said.
“Residents near the shooting should stay indoors”, she added.
Major Scott stated that it wasn’t clear if two or three people who were seen being questioned were suspects.
“This is about as bad as it can get with six people shot right now,” Scott said.
The victims were hospitalised in unknown condition, and their ages were unavailable, Sheriff Roger L. Harris said in a statement.
