Bourke: Teenager killed as stolen car rolls after hours-long police pursuit in outback NSW

A teenager has been killed in a stolen car after a terrifying hours-long police pursuit ended with a car rolling in outback NSW.
Emergency services have established a critical incident investigation after the boy died following the pursuit and crash in Bourke on Thursday night.
At about 11.15pm, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District responded to reports of a robbery at a service station on Burroway Road, Narromine.

About 12:08am on Friday the stolen vehicle was located 15 kilometres east of Nyngan on the Mitchell Highway, where police initiated a pursuit, however, it was terminated a short time later.
About 12.45am, a pursuit was reinitiated in Coolabah.
Police deployed two sets of road spikes on Mitchell Highway, Coolabah, and Sydney Road, Bourke.
The vehicle continued through the township of Bourke, before it crashed and rolled on Weir Road, Bourke, about 1.30am.
Police immediately rendered assistance to the four occupants of the car.
A 17-year-old boy, who is believed to have been an occupant in the vehicle, died at scene.
Three other boys were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before they were taken to Bourke Hospital.
A 13-year-old boy remains in a serious condition, while a 16-year-old boy is in a stable condition.
A 14-year-old has been airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established, with specialist officers from Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene.
A critical incident investigation team from Oxley Police District will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will also be subject to an independent review.
