A man and a boy have been arrested after an incredible chase that led police to use road spikes on a stolen car they were driving and initiate a foot pursuit to take them into custody.

At about 2.20am on Monday, a vehicle was allegedly stolen from a home in Adrian Place, Balgowlah Heights on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, during a break whilst the occupants were asleep in the residence.

A short time later officers sighted the vehicle travelling north along Belgrave Street, Manly, where they attempted to stop the vehicle.

When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was initiated.

Road spikes were successfully deployed on Spit Road, Mosman, where the vehicle crashed into a traffic control light and three males were seen running from the vehicle.

Following a foot pursuit, a 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

A 14-year-old boy was later arrested in Pearl Bay Road, Mosman.

Both have been taken to Manly Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers: at 1800 333 000.
