Man, woman charged over death of two-year-old Riverina boy

New South Wales police have arrested a man and woman over the shocking death of a two-year-old child in Riverina last year.

The boy was taken to Griffith Base Hospital on December 1, 2023, with significant head injuries.

Medical staff airlifted him to Sydney Children’s Hospital but he died just two days later.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District and the child abuse squad arrested a 21-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man at a Griffith home on Wednesday.

The two adults were charged with manslaughter and were scheduled to appear in the Griffith Local Court on Thursday.

The investigation into the death is ongoing.
