Truck driver Danny Martin found alive after vanishing in NSW after radioing bosses to say he was helping a man

A truck driver who vanished under mysterious circumstances has miraculously been found alive.
Danny Martin, 50, went missing while driving along Newell Hwy, in Morundah in NSW’s Murray region, during the early hours of Thursday morning - shortly after radioing his boss to say that he had pulled over to help someone.
His employer Armesto’s Transport raised the alarm to authorities, who found his vehicle abandoned with the keys in the ignition, sparking a major search operation.

“We don’t know anything more other than he’s safe and on the way to the hospital,” she said.
“Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support in this difficult situation.”
It is understood that Martin was found suffering from dehydration.

Armesto’s Transport previously said it has “serious concerns” about his welfare.
“We have serious concerns about the wellbeing of one of our drivers Danny who last spoke to our afterhours manager at 4.30am this morning, Queensland time,” the company wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“Danny said he was ‘helping a new guy’ but our afterhours did not have a breakdown in that area and that didn’t make sense.”
Police were called to the parking bay at the Widgiewa rest area south of Narrandera, where they found Martin’s truck parked in “an odd way”.
The sleeper’s airconditioning was running, the keys were in the ignition, tools were sitting on the step of the truck, and Martin was nowhere to be seen.
Martin had been on his usual run from Brisbane to Melbourne at the time.
NSW Police previously said a search operation was launched about 9am on Thursday after Martin was reported missing.
“Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District with the assistance of the SES and VRA commenced a search of bushland off the Newell Hwy, Morundah, for a 50-year-old man,” a spokesperson said.
“Inquiries have established the man may have suffered a medical episode and walked into bushland about 4am after stopping the truck he was driving along the side of the road.”
