Narellan: Police officer struck by car during traffic operation with roads closed on outskirts of Sydney
A police officer has been rushed to hospital, after being hit by a car while trying to perform a traffic stop on the outskirts of Sydney.
The NSW Police motorcyclist was taken to hospital after being struck while conducting a vehicle stop at Narellan on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to The Northern Road shortly before 5.30am after the officer was struck by a Kia Carnival as he was standing beside his motorcycle performing the vehicle stop.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The officer – aged in his 40s and attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a suspected hip injury before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.
The driver of the SUV, a 42-year-old man, has been taken for mandatory testing.
The Northern Road is closed southbound at Narellan just past Fairwater Drive. Southbound traffic is being diverted into Porrende Street, Grahams Hill Road, Camden Valley Way and Narellan Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution.
Emergency services and traffic crews are on site, with officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) en route to the scene.
