A family home with two women and a child has been sprayed with gunshots in Sydney’s west, triggering a manhunt for the alleged shooter.

At 12:30am, police were called to the Hunt street home in Guildford West. The two women, aged 45 and 23, and the child, a seven-year-old, were not injured.

Authorities were told shots were fired at the house before a white hatchback left the scene.

According to reports, a gun was located and seized from the burnt-out car and is being tested.

Multiple crimes scenes have been established, and police commenced an investigation if the two incidents are linked.

“It’s not a nice thing to have occurred to them and it’s outrageous that this sort of thing is happening in the community,” Detective Inspector Ricki Lindner told Nine.

“It’s brazen, it’s blatant, it’s dangerous and the community and police won’t tolerate it,” she said.

“Police take this sort of behaviour, this brazen behaviour, very seriously.”

The number of shots fired have not yet been determined by specialist police.

The white hatchback has been towed away, with charred remains and melted glass left behind.
