Sydney murder probe: Man found fighting for life in Ryde unit dies after alleged assault

48-year-old man died after reports of a assault in Ryde.

An urgent investigation is underway after a man found unconscious in his Sydney apartment died in hospital.

Police rushed to the scene to find the man with critical injuries in a Curzon St unit at Ryde, 13km northwest of the Sydney CBD, just after 5pm on Saturday.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene and took him to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he was declared dead.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The 48-year-old man’s injuries and subsequent death in hospital has prompted a murder investigation.

Investigations involving the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad are ongoing.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
