Swimmers and surfers were ordered out of the water at several Sydney beaches again on Friday morning following fresh shark sightings.

Manly Beach was cleared shortly before 7.15am after a surf lifesaver spotted a shark nearby, prompting lifeguards to direct people out of the surf as a precaution.

Although the beach alarm was not activated, authorities moved quickly to empty the water while checks were carried out.

Officials later confirmed a tagged bull shark was also detected near Cronulla Beach at about 7.20am.

Manly Beach has since reopened, with authorities urging beachgoers to stay alert as shark activity continues to be monitored.
